These Cab Top Ads are the result of a collaboration between artist Johanna Poethig, expressive arts therapist Delfina Piretti and women from SAGE, an organization serving women who have worked in the sex industry.

These “art ads” were created with women in SAGE project recovering from abuse and violence. They are digitally designed public art works installed on the tops of taxi cabs in San Francisco. These works present alternatives from the sexualized and exploitative images of women in mainstream media. As Cab Top Ads, the images of eyes and related texts use the same vehicle, both advertising and the cab, with completely new intentions.
